Sharp Betting Intelligence desk
Start with the settled book
The performance desk is the public ledger for channel releases that have been graded: win, loss, or push. Pending tips are not results yet.
- Wins, losses and pushes; pushes return stake, no profit, no loss.
- Every tip in the table, not a highlights reel of winners.
- Rows matter: fixture, selection, odds, units, and result show how the book got here.
Headline totals without the path are how short samples mislead.
Units: what the book made or lost
Units profit is the net result of the recorded stakes at the sizes on the cards. Example: at decimal 2.20, a winning 1.0u bet makes +1.20u; a losing 1.0u loses 1.0u; a push is 0u.
1u = 1% of your chosen bankroll
Remember that convention before reading any total. The desk’s unit curve is the channel book at recommended sizing; not automatically your cash P&L if you sized differently or took different prices. The cumulative units chart shows the path, including drawdowns. Losing sequences belong on that chart. A smooth green line with the red days erased would not be this desk.
ROI: return relative to stakes
ROI compares net units profit with units staked in the settled book. Illustration: +5u profit on 100u staked ≈ +5% ROI.
It is not “my whole bankroll grew 5%.” Always read ROI with sample size and stake volume. A huge percentage on a handful of bets is a story, not a process.
Pin CLV and n: price evidence with coverage
Pin CLV is average closing-line value where we have a comparable sharp (Pinnacle) close on the same line. The n is how many tips support that average.
- Pin CLV %: average price quality vs that close, on measured tips.
- n: coverage, often smaller than total settled tips.
- Missing close: not “0% CLV”, excluded from the average.
Positive average CLV is evidence to weigh alongside units. It is not a promise the next card wins. Sharp Buys and Group Buys sit in the same book; don’t score the labels separately from the ledger.
A simple reading order
- Settled tip count and W-L-P.
- Units and the shape of the equity curve (including dips).
- ROI with sample size.
- Pin CLV and n.
- A few individual rows; winners and losers.
Profit without price evidence can flatter a short run. Good price evidence can coexist with short-term losses. That tension is normal; hiding either column is not.
Judge over time, then decide
Past results do not predict future results. The public desk is there to inspect before you pay; not to turn a historical return into a guarantee.
